With StoneWall Clinton as Secretary of State, Governor Patterson chose Kirsten Gillibrand (representative for NY's 20th congressional district) to replace her. Good choice?... politically - no...good for NY? - yes. If I was in Patterson's shoes, for political reasons, I would have picked Andrew Cuomo (the Attorney General of NY), purely because he represents the only real threat Patterson has when he has to actually run for Governor in a few years. Now on the other hand, Gillibrand probably offered the best choice for NY in general. Being from upstate NY, Gillibrand balances the state representation (with Schumer from downstate), she's a moderate democrat which will help with her re-election in two years, she has a proven track record as a vote-getter, not only does she have a 100% rating with the ACLU but she also has been endorsed by the NRA with an A rating, AND she's good in my book because she voted against the TARP bill TWICE! (granted, I voted for Sandy Treadwell this last November mainly due to Gillibrand's associations with big tobacco and her working for the Clinton administration but that's neither here nor there)
Rod Blagojevich. I read an article from a liberal columnist that actually summed his situation up pretty well, it went along these lines: Blago was dumb to think he could sell an open senate seat and get away with it, he was even dumber to think he could return to work after he was caught. I realize every citizen is presumed innocent until proven guilty but being an elected official he has to be held to higher standards of ethical conduct. The man was caught on tape discussing the sale, his wife was caught on tape discussing the financial security of their family, he's part of the corrupt Illinois political machine, and to top it off he sincerely believes he did nothing wrong! Sure, maybe his selection of Ronald Burris for Senate will prove to be wise but in my eyes Burris has been tainted and should be watched like a hawk. I foresee a swift impeachment with a criminal trial cherry on top in Blago's near future.
Ohhh the Troubled Assets Relief Program. Congress, The Treasury Department, and the Federal Reserve blew through $700 billion of taxpayers money with absolutely nothing to show for it. The October surprise, THE SKY IS FALLING!!, we must pass the TARP bill quick or we will all die. Well, three months later it proved to be nothing but the largest scam in American history. I don't know whether Congressional members were just too stupid to see that with zero accountability the banks would receive blank checks to do whatever they wanted or if they just couldn't see through all the smoke billowing out of the Treasury Department.
Another point I have to make regarding this bank bailout nonsense is that usually I would have no problem in a successful company spending their profits on anything they wanted, but these banks that have received TARP funds ARE NOT SUCCESSFUL COMPANIES. They are now being funded by the American taxpayer and what they spend their money on is crucial. First of all the funds should only go to the relief of troubled assets, secondly my tax money is not being spent on $50 million dollar jets, $1.2 million dollar CEO office renovations (which included roughly $35k for a toilet!), or even half a million dollars for a weekend spa vacation. I believe the Treasury should go to each bank that received TARP funds and demand an itemized report of how each dollar was spent and have them repay every penny they can't account for.
I could go on for days talking about how the bailout has proven to be utterly useless. Congress is investigating Bernie Madoff over his $50 billion ponzi scheme, yet there has been no action taken on Congress's misuse of $700 billion. Talk about a joke.
The Republican party...should we start over? John McCain fought a long hard battle recently. Sure, his campaign probably could have done better but Obama proved to be effective in everything he did. We all knew this was going to be a democratic year, Americans have to blame someone for the economic fallout and the unpopular war in Iraq and we all know they're too stupid to blame the right people so of course they blame the Republicans (even though Democrats controlled Congress since 2006 and could have eased the financial fallout two years before it happened but what do I know). If you read my letter to Senator Schumer you will have seen that I placed blame on everyone, we all share an equal amount of guilt in this (but it can possibly be traced back to the Carter administration but we'll talk about that later). Now back to the GOP. In the 1994 mid-term election, Republicans took control of Congress since the 1950's or 1960's (fact check?). They won because they ran on the basic platform of limited government, congressional accountability, and self-responsibility. Newt Gingrich, using the Reagan Doctrine of limited government, drafted the Contract with America and created a new dawn for the republican party. After 14 years the GOP has lost that appeal of a shinning city on a hill, in order to regain power we must get back to our founding principles and rewrite the contract with America and actually FOLLOW it. In a few days I'll probably write up a new contract using Lincoln's, Reagan's and Gingrich's policies as a base so look for it.
I'll leave the rest for a new blog. Executive orders and the beginning of Obamunism.

With the recent election of B. Hussein Obama (as Ann Coulter refers to him as), I've come to realize that no one, not even his own supporters, know who this man truely is or how he may govern. At this time, I can see him going in three directions, which path he will choose only time will tell.
1. A mistake like Jimmy Carter. Will he take this already divided country with an on-going economic crisis and just run it to the ground in four years flat? Double inflation and unemployment rates? Extremely high tax rates? Imploding economy? Foreign affair disasters?
2. Move to the middle like Bill Clinton. Some reform in entitlement programs? End the war in Iraq while claiming victory? Possibly balancing the budget? Keeping tax rates low (maybe not at Bush tax cuts level but still low)? Basically just squeaking by while hanging onto that possibility of a re-election come 2012.
3. Far-left god like Franklin Roosevelt. Asrise from the liberal ashes and restore American socialism? Enlist millions of Americans to work for the government? "Redistribute the wealth" (Robin Hood syndrome)? Double the already bloated government? Nationalize the financial, transportation, natural resoruce and energy industries?
This will be the first and last time you will see this from me...I sure in hell hope he goes with Bill Clinton style governing. The country can't take another Jimmy Carter nor can we withstand another socialistic crazed loon like FDR. We are walking a fine line between capitalism and the dictatorship of the proletariat (socialism). I'm willing to fight for the free market and democracy, I just hope it doesn't come down to that.
Letter to Senator Schumer
Dear Senator:
We find ourselves in the midst of a housing crisis that ultimately has affected the entire global economy. We have allowed the greed from Wall Street to flow into
Every member of Congress, Democrat or Republican, is to blame for this mess. Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac should have been leashed in years ago. I've recently read that you completely deny that you had any wrong doing in this affair. I beg to differ. At the bequest of Congress, especially yourself, banks started lending money to low-income individuals to purchase over-inflated homes knowing very well there would be no way to recoup that money. Barney Frank and you, Senator, should have never pushed for banks to lend to low-income individuals.
With all due respect, I request, with the support of many fellow citizens, that you and others come forward and admit to your failure of not protecting the American people from the greed on Wall Street and in Congress.
Respectfully,
Me =)Fire-Side Chat, October 21, 2008
Now, what if...I decide to go with the old saying if you can't beat them, join them, and rejoice with "socialism rocks!". Come November 4th, I'll enter the voting booth and barock the vote. "The One" will win overwhelmingly because our wonderful country has turned socialist over night and poor old John McCain will be sent back to Arizona to write a history book on how capitalism use to work. What a fantastic day in United Socialist States of America (USSA)!
The redistribution of wealth has begun! Nazi Pel..ahem, I mean Nancy Pelosi is on Capital Hill with her comrade Harry Reid, thinking which entitlement program is gonna get the 150% increase in their budget. Charles Rangel, Barney Frank, and Chris Dodd are sitting on their banking and revenue committes thinking how they can raise even more money without calling it a tax. The king of the Senate, Comrade Biden, is at a speech in New Stalin City, formerly New York City, getting praises from the people after demanding that true patriotism is only gained after paying more tax. Over at the Supreme Court Building, Hillary and William Jefferson Clinton are being sworn in as Juctices Gingsburg and Stevens respectfully retired their seats. Finally, "The One", the holy Messiah, the man that was born in a manager in the great state of Hawaii, sits in the oval office. Drapped behind him is the new flag, a blue banner with a white star in the middle, flanked on each side by a brilliant-white sickle and hammer.
The USSA people sitting quietly in their government issued trailers, everyones credit cards maxed to the hilt, mortgages all been issued obsolete. That city on a shinning hill looks more like a dull glare. The American Dream is just that..a dream.
** ** ** **
If you go back and review the story, look at the ratio between red and blue (red being socialist bullshit and blue being what use to be). We are on a very slippery slope to what could be the demise of our once great nation. We have always been a trailblazer for freedom around the world. Our economic and military might are in the balance right now and your vote on November 4th could mean whether we save our country or let it fall into the red abyss. It's up to you, will you allow everything we built for over 300 years just fall into the darkness? It's a sad day in America...
Fire-Side Chat, September 23, 2008
The great socialist, Franklin D. Roosevelt, would be so proud of our government today. In a little less than a week, the Alphabet programs of the 1930's will look like child play, Congress will pass the 700 billion dollar Wall Street bailout and bring Socialism one step closer to D.C.
If I had to place blame on anything I'd have to place it on every politician in Washington from 1988 till present day. Congress has given every government agency a blank check to use as they each please and the 'watch dog' in the White House (Both Bush's and Clinton) have had veto paralysis. Newt Gingrich tried to slap some sense back into us with his Contract with America in the '90's, but has anything really changed since then? No.
We, as conservatives, should be ashamed of ourselves. Why did Reagan fight for eight long years to reform this country if we were just going to turn our back as soon as he left office? Our country is still very young, yet we have showed the world a power that no other country has shown. We have been able to do that with LIMITED GOVERNMENT, CAPITALISM and the pure belief in SELF-RESPONSIBILITY. Those are the three basic building blocks of a great nation. For the last 20 years we have been chipping away at those building blocks and now, my friends, the chickens have come home to roost. We are a nation of a NANNY GOVERNMENT, REGULATED MARKETS, and WELFARE!!! The only thing that will come from this is Socialism, and as far as I know, Socialism is a system of failure.
Limited Government:
The Department of Education, The Department of the Interior, The Department of Labor, The Environmental Protection Agency, The Securities and Exchange Commission, The Federal Reserve, The Internal Revenue Service...When does it stop? Now Congress and President Bush want to set up a NEW agency to oversee what the other agencies failed to prevent. I mean COME ON!!! This is a spiraling calamity that will never end.
We need to cut EVERY agencies/department/commissions budget. Across the board budget cuts. Whatever it takes. We need a balanced budget. Without a balanced budget this country is doomed. Every day we borrow more and more money from foreign countries. On a side note, just in case you were not aware, China is the largest shareholder of the American Government. If they say jump, we have to say how high. Does anyone else find that as a problem? I sure in hell do.
Capitalism:
Yes, I'm a believer in a free market. John McCain USE to be a de-regulator till recently. He's in the midst of an important campaign, I can't blame him. I think this Wall Street crisis is a bunch of heebie jeebies, but here comes the Washington heroes with that check for almost a trillion dollars to save the day.
In a free market, you have your ups and downs. The market always corrects itself, but in order for it to do that it MUST hit rock bottom. Last week we took away that factor by the SEC disallowing short trades. For those of you who don't know what I'm talking about...Google it. We wouldn't allow the market to stumble in order for the market to get back on track, we placed a made-up safety net to hold off the real problems till after the election (when the short trading will be allowed again, just wait, the Dow Jones will hit bottom and we'll be out 700 billion dollars).
We need to deregulate the market, allow free trade, let the American spirit pump up the economy. It has before, it'll do it again. We need to allow supply-side economics to do its job (Reaganomics for you dummies). It worked before, yet we turned our back. American's LOVE to make money, it's what we do best! So why not let us do what we do and allow us the freedom to do it however we like without having to worry about forking over half our income in taxes each year.
Self-Responsibility:
Oh god, I mentioned to naughty "R" word. Give it a break, the government is only here to "promote the general welfare" of this country, NOT guarantee welfare for all. Work and you shall be rewarded. It's the American way. I'll quote two great leaders: Lincoln, "You cannot help men permanently by doing for them what they could and should do themselves" and Kennedy, "Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country".
The housing market tanked. You know why? Because of those sub-prime mortgages. We can blame the greedy little banks all day till next Tuesday and we'll still be in the same position we are today. I blame not only the banks, but the individuals that KNEW damn well they couldn't afford that loan yet they took it anyways. You will not receive any pity from me, nor should you ask the government to come bail you out.
Declare bankruptcy, ruin your credit, and get your ass back to work. It happens every day in this country. Suck it up princess.
I'm done ranting for today. *Phew* That helped! LOL.
Pure Disgust of the Liberal Left
Isn't it funny how all of a sudden the liberal left find traditional family values so appealing?
Governor Palin's family, particularly her children, should be off limits...I give great props to Senators Obama and Biden for publicly stating that opinion...these so-called "journalists" that find it news worthy that Governor Palin's daughter is pregnant, that has absolutely zero relevancy to this election, are one the same playing field has the Left Coast blogosphere and the National Inquirer. Utterly disgusting. These are the members of the liberal media that want to decide who becomes the next president, not 'We the people'. The New York Times placed three front page stories on Tuesday pertaining to Palin's daughter...THREE FRONT PAGE STORIES IN ONE DAY! When did journalistic responsibility have to do with how many papers you sell instead of the quality of news you report? When (if they haven't already) the NY Times endorses Senator Obama, he..out of respect for real journalism and the American people...should respectfully decline their endoresment. We all know he would never want to offend the almighty Times but if he really is the man he likes people to think he is, he will not bow down to a make-believe news organization.
It's also pretty hilarious to watch the feminist groups and the high powered liberal females slam Governor Palin. They claim she will be a bad mother if she is to accept the responsibilites of the vice president's office, they say she has too much on her plate to fully serve this country. I've always thought that woman, whether they be liberal or conservative, feminist or traditional, would be enthralled by the idea of a female in the White House. It turns out that they only want LIBERAL woman in high elected positions (ie Nancy Pelosi, Hillary Clinton...) We've had 43 presidents since George Washington took the office back in 1789, has anyone once questioned whether they would be a good father? Barack Obama has two young daughters, he has a working wife...the office of the president is twice has demanding as the VP office and yet for some reason the media or the Republican party NEVER once questioned his parenting abilities. I go back to the paragraph before, journalistic responsibility has gone bankrupt in this country. Any 'journalist' that would sit there and question Governor Palin's ability to remain a good mother is sexist and should no longer have a job.
With that said...last night Governor Palin made one of the most historic speeches and political convention history. She has rejuevenated the conservative base and brought excitement to the Republican ticket. She is the Ronald Reagan of the next generation and she will bring honor and integrity to this election and we will win this November!
